The Hermitage Inn’s extraordinary cuisine celebrates the best regional products that New England has to offer, served with our unique brand of mountain elegance.

Executive Chef Chris Bonnivier and his team have partnered with local producers and artisans to create the best dining experience in Southern Vermont. The culinary program at The Hermitage Inn includes seasonal menus and local ingredients, an upscale Tavern, a fine dining restaurant, and beautiful outdoor spaces that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.

Our menus borrow from haute cuisine and local artisanal foods creating a unique gastronomic experience that is both rustic and refined.

The Hermitage Inn brings together artisans that are experts in their craft. The Chef, patissier, farmer, baker, butcher, cheesemonger, forager, and sommelier all work together to create a dining experience that is both elevated and familiar.

 

The Tavern

The Tavern blends charm and sophistication to create an inviting and familiar place where friends gather to unwind and linger over classic and convivial dishes prepared by our award-winning culinary team.  Featuring the best in local ingredients, the Tavern welcomes guests for dinner and cocktails.  In temperate weather, guests can enjoy the natural scenery, sounds and scents from our Orchard Terrace.

The Birches Dining Room

Executive Chef Chris Bonnivier’s culinary team collaborates with the best local artisans and producers to bring guests a memorable, but relaxed fine dining experience. The dining room is a comfortable and elegant atmosphere featuring manicured garden and woodland views.

Orchard Terrace Dining

Nothing says “summer is here” like al fresco dining on our Orchard Terrace, with views of our orchard and the Hermitage Inn grounds. Enjoy fine dining with fresh mountain air and, on summer weekends, live music. See our events calendar for the music lineup. We offer our menu in all spaces created by Executive Chef Chris Bonnivier. For parties over 6, please call the restaurant for availability.

Wine Cellar

Guests in parties of 10 or more can book our private wine cellar for a one-of-a-kind Vermont dining experience. Surrounded by The Hermitage Inn’s extensive wine collection, guests will enjoy a pre-fixe, seasonal tasting menus paired with wines from our cellar.

The Hermitage Inn is steeped in history and love of wine. Drawing from its roots as an award-winning collection, the wine cellar delights beginners and connoisseurs alike with thousands of bottles to choose from. Led by our expert team, guests can explore regions, varietals, producers and vintages from all over the world.

The Hermitage Inn wine program includes special events and tastings throughout the year featuring both heritage producers and some of the newest and most exciting wine makers of the day.

Barolos, white truffles, risotto, tajarin pasta, alpine cheese and decadent desserts.

Epicurean delights of the Piemonte region of Italy. Experience luxurious alpine inspired dining in our private and cozy heated gondolas while enjoying views of Haystack Mountain and the Hermitage Inn Grounds.
